No. An allergy to penicillin covers all forms of it. Tell your doctor, if he or she doesn’t already know, and you can be prescribed a different form of antibiotic for what ails you.

no, you really should avoid penicillin and probably cephalsporins by the sound of it….with each reaction things can escalate.

Ceclor almost killed me, very fortunate that I live only
9 blocks from the hospital. I as told to wear a bracelet, and carry in my purse, allergic to Ceclor, Keflex ( cephalex).
I would advise your Doctor, you could be allergic to penicillin
    also.
Ask him for Azithrimycin tablets, or some other type.
When you go to the Drug store to have it filled, tell them
you are allergic to ceclor and Keflex (cephalex) which are
basically the same thing. The pharmacist will note this on your
records, and if ever given a prescription with even a trace
of it in your medicine He will not fill it and call the Doctor.
I do not know why they do not take it off the market.
My friend’s mother passed away from it, given to her
in the Hospital. Not to scare you, however better to be
safe, then maybe losing your life over medication.

No, probably not, there are other antibiotics out there you could use without the risk of a reaction. Talk to a doctor about it.

i definatly think this is the sort of question that should be answered by a doctor and not by people on yahoo answers
